- Approval by IDI Board of Directors
- Compatibility with other shareholders
- Desire and ability to keep IDI arrangements and agreements confidential
- Honesty, integrity and financial stability
- In business a minimum of three years
- Independent distributor
- Power Transmission & Bearing, Industrial Supplies, Fluid Power or Safety Supplies generalist or specialist
- Well respected in the industry and a force in their marketplace
- Willingness and ability to pay IDI, fellow IDI members and suppliers in accordance with IDI's policies
- Willingness to abide by and honor all IDI bylaws, customs and agreements
- Willingness to fill out an application form and submit financial statements in confidence to IDI's external auditors and pass IDI's financial test
- Willingness to participate in IDI surveys and programs
- Willingness to pay various dues and assessments on time
- Willingness to submit audited or review engagement financial statements annually in confidence to IDI's external auditors
